Finally read the FAQs

Finally read the FAQs (3/11)

  1. After having my third one break on my .40 I went with the floating pin but since it doesn't have the factory return spring to retain it I used a drop of vibratite on both sides of the frame to keep the pin from walking. Not my favorite way of handling it but I didn't like the idea of drilling out the trigger to use the factory roll pin. I hate roll pins. I have about 2500rds on it now with no problem. My Tanfo limited in 9mm hasn't had any problems with the bolt yet. But I have another pin in jy bag just in case.
  2. It pretty epic when that happens. In my case the c clip fell out so not only did the trigger assembly fall out, the trigger assembly sent springs everywhere on the stage. Luckily found all the pieces and used a bandaid to hold it together for the rest of the day.
  3. yes http://www.midwayusa.com/product/316916/briley-spectrum-mach-1-extended-choke-tube-benelli-except-crio-beretta-mobilchoke-12-gauge?cm_mmc=se_service-_-shippingconf-_-shippingconf-_-ProductShippedTodayLink
  4. Great to read your feeling better and going to keep developing stuff. April was a year of having my MOA gun. ~30 matches and an unknown amount of rounds through it. I am still very happy with the gun and work done by MOA.
  5. It is a rifle front sight. 3/8" dovetail. 0.315" tall. Looks awesome.
  6. Did i miss reading about this mod or is it Top secret MOA-ness. i almost chop sawed mine but couldn't find where to buy a spare "just in case"
  7. those 2 things were the issues with 100% of the people that I personally know who had issues with their Mossbergs. Its funny to me that many wanted to spend 1200 on a M2/1301/Versamax, but balked at the idea of paying a dollar more for a box of decent shells.
  8. Got home from work and took a look at the gate and I had to look at it from a few angles but sure enough it was tweaked The left side of the lifter was slightly twisted up. With some slight force it went right back to even height. I racked about 50 rds through it holding the gun in a few different ways and all fed perfectly. Will live fire this weekend but I think you were right on it.
  9. Thanks Tom. I have a TTI lifter but I will check to see if somehow it got bent. I could see that happening.. part of what I was practicing was dumping it and one of the times i remember the bolt dropping (empty gun) after I dumped it. I wonder if it got banged up then. Obviously it was enough to drop the bolt. It's also very possible that was my last practice run without the problem now that I think about it.
  10. Sunday during some practice drills my M3K started having some issues feeding. It ran perfect for 5 or 6 runs but then it started failing to feed almost EVERY round. Saturday I shot a match with zero issues. The problem: As a new shell attempts to enter the chamber, it will hang on the barrel extension. From what I can tell the extractor/spring (recently replaced OEM Stoeger with Benelli M2 pieces) is the culprit. It's pushing the shell at the bottom and causing the nose to go in crooked (away from the chamber). If you barely tap the nose of the shell, the shell will load in fine. I took it apart and made the M2 "hook" less sharp to look more like the Stoeger one. I didn't go to far since I wanted to get some feed back first but it seemed to help. When I manually cycle it now, it only hung up once in about 100 cycles.. where as before it would do it 5 out of 10 or more. The barrel extension is already smooth and rounded off to help with feeding. Anyone ever have this problem? If it keeps happening I am going back to the Stoeger set up.
  11. I love this little kit from harbor freight. Has many many sizes. http://www.harborfreight.com/397-piece-metric-o-ring-assortment-67580.html
  12. Whats that thing do? its a pretty slick/inexpensive bolt release. I've used one on the benellis and its pretty smooth especially when using match saver. I prefer the MOA only because i can unload the tube easier by leaning the button back which i dont think is possible with the RNT.
  13. that makes sense to me from what I saw. One of the downsides of buying my m3k so early was the comp package keeps getting tweaks as stuff comes up, like this one, possibly. If any of those 30 have serial numbers moved and available for sale can i buy one, pretty please?
  14. That would be perfectly normal "wear" . Bluing is rubbed off from the extractor doing its job. It was a little rougher than just the blueing. Would take a fine file to knock it down. I'll try to get a better picture. Never the less it ran 100 problem free rounds the day before.
  15. I've lost track of the round count on my m3k but after this weekends Atlanta 3Gun I broke it down to clean it (we were rained on) and noticed a little bit of wear on the OEM extractor on the sides. The actual hook looked fine, and the gun has extracted fine since purchase. Since I had it out, I did replace it with the Benelli extractor and spring. Here is a pic if anyone is interested. It had similar wear on both sides. It was slightly rough, if I were to reinstall it i would of polished it. The bolt itself did not show any signs of wear in the channel where the extractor goes.
