Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I’ve followed MemphisMechanics advice for many years and it always proves to be worthwhile. Highly recommend you consider what he is offering.
  2. Much wisdom from MemphisMechanic as usual. Heed his advice and less regrets you will will have. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. When I started couldn't warm up to the Glock feel either. Plus, when shooting 34 next to M&P Pro, not only did M&P feel and point better, the recoil impulse was less as well. Fast forward 6 years or so, and after shooting a variety of guns in competition, I finally broke down and bought a 34, cause doesn't everyone have to own a Glock at some point? After taking a top shelf shooting class, and now better understanding grip mechanics, the Glock may not seem as comfortable during dry fire or initially shooting, and you do have to roll hands further forward, but that also locks the wrists better. Difference is with Glock it's necessary and with some other brands it some getting use to because you are now so far up the slide on the support hand it seems unnatural at first. Get some training from a good instructor and like me you might find when you improve some of the other factors the results improve and before long you forget the Glock wasn't initially the most comfortable. 4. Tulsa, OK 94 deg + 92% Hum = 115 Heat Index?? Are you kidding? I wish. Regional match last weekend, drank like 20 waters and it still wasn't enough. 6+ shooters and RO's dropped out due to heat. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Too many issues to ever consider more than trash. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Always a possibility in the rocky terrain I hunt in, but I wasn't sure if muzzleloaders produce some weird recoil that could damage. Seems like I read somewhere that high powered air rifles need scopes made for their unique properties as regular scope don't hold up well because forces are different. Maybe I bought in to some BS, but figured it couldn't hurt to ask. I'm inclined to try it unless somebody chimes in to say I would be an idiot because everybody knows something Im failing to consider. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Think ether can be bolted to the back. I'm partial to Tec-Lok as I feel it is more flexible in regards to quick repositioning. I love my Safariland 1911 holsters for the moleskin like interior which protects gun finish on a couple nicer pistols, but otherwise you can't go wrong with Blade Tech or Comp-Tac. Great products you can buy with confidence. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Love the 9MM 124GR FMJ ELITE out of my Glock 34. Soft shooting and very accurate. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Several frequent competitors and posters here recommended the Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x with illuminated reticle which I ordered today. Little cheaper is the Bushnell Throwdown 1-4x. Either should be sufficient for 200 yards without breaking bank. Primary Arms also makes some better quality glass on the economy end of scale. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Would using a Vortex Strike Eagle 1-6x AR-BDC on my muzzleloader the one week a year I can partake, be too likely to damage it to take risk throwing it on? I average about six shots a year for last three years all have been target practice. Have previously shot open sights but my eyes are failing. Figure a little magnification will help and I have never had an IR so maybe that to will be some benefit. Just ordered the Vortex and QD mounts for an AR, and hate to spend any more money on a dedicated muzzleloader scope that will see such limited use and where I hunt, unlikely to be any shot taken >100 yds. I know BDC won't be accurate, but minute of deer inside 100 yards doesn't have to be pinpoint accuracy, anything in the vicinity of boiler room will get the job done. 11. Now I better understand. Those pins stuck in primer pockets were really short. And I don't deprime before tumbling as I only reload pistol caliber's now and have never had an issue so have haven't ever taken the extra step to deprime in advance of tumbling. I guess that is common on rifle reloading so I have that to look forward to. Good info here so hoping to get some better results from implementing others suggestions. 12. Several of us are NOT saying stuck in primer pocket. Reboot. Pin stuck sideways INSIDE the case jammed diagonally. Pin lays across the flash hole as in pic above, but is inside, not outside the case, and pin just long enough in 9mm case to jam ends against case wall and hold on for dear life . I've had some I couldn't remove using a long thin screwdriver. Now when I feel the obstruction I stop and remove, discard case. Will certainly order the longer pins which should remedy issue. 13. Pins aren't getting stuck in the flash hole, they're wedged sideways across the primer pocket. Length of the pin is the problem. After searching the 'net it seems 0.047 x 0.255 is the preferred pin size.! So are you saying that is the size I need to quit having the sideways pin stuck and stopping my reloading process or bending my decamping pin?? So frustrating. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Wow. I know poster is a long time Benos contributor and I have implemented his advice often and trust his input. Love Clays in my 45 load and believe it to be popular powder. Hope Steve comment wrong and disappointed if correct.
  15. Have dealt with this many times, and at a major match this year one of the shooters/gunsmiths from the manufacturer of the mags took one look and showed me a small burr that had built up on the left side feed lip area. Sorry I don't know correct name but you can feel it if there by running you finger around outside edge of top mag tube. So small I hadn't noticed. Couple strokes with a file and they started dropping smoothly again. 10 second fix worth checking if you don't have a bulged mag. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
