Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. Taylor Freelance has the longer spring. http://taylorfreelance.com/shopping/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=154
  2. I definitely think the 9mm Eagle is the top choice. Have you thought about getting a 9mm conversion barrel for your G35?
  3. Leave production alone. Drop Limited 10 and create Limited 15 minor. Production guys that want to shoot 15 would play. Limited shooters that for reasons of health or age that have to shoot minor could download to 15. Let the battle between production triggers and single action triggers begin. The trigger issue would be nothing, totally swamped by shooting ability.
  4. Get you some +10% mag springs
  5. This is sound advice. Nothing beats a Hundo at this point in time. Pricier than the rest, but worth every penny if you value your time as well as want an AMAZING case gauge. I third that emotion. Love the Hundo. I have the 20 hole DA it's too tight to be of any use to me. The Lyman single is also good.

    How many rounds?
  7. The chainlink front strap on the Trojan is too aggressive vertically, but worthless horizontally. Good grip on side to side movement. No real grip on up and down movement.
  8. Chrono 10 rounds and all 10 should be at or above your desired power factor. If you dig math then do all that SD stuff to see how far above PF you want to be to safely pass chrono. I like my average to be 2 SD above required PF.
  9. No size selection for shirt purchases. I entered my size in the comments.
  10. The beauty of production is eveyone shoots 10 rounds minor. Don't make it single stack. No need to decide if the match favors 8 round major or 10 rounds minor. Any introduction of major PF will cause the balance to shift. If you don't change the ammo capacity then everyone that wants to win HAS to shoot major. Leave Production alone.
  11. I read that you can run them through the oven cleaning cycle to temper. That's a higher heat, about 900F.
  12. Good stages, well run. I will be back for more. Thanks to everyone that worked on the Area 5 match this year. Great job!
  13. If there's a chance it can bounce off the sear then there's a chance it could bounce off the half cock. Nothing's perfect but the probability is very low. Anyone have any statistics on the number of accidents caused by a fully lowered hammer on a CZ with no FPB... Of course the real answer is that if a DA/SA gun doesn't have a decocker or a FPB then it should be removed from the USPSA production list because it's unsafe.
  14. My AET (May 2013) shoots plated and coated bullets well enough. I use Zero bullets when I care about the increased accuracy. I had a standard barrel fitted last fall for $410 plus shipping. I still run the AET almost all the time.
  15. Be sure to use a nice bulky powder. If you drop the speed that low you could get to a point where the low powder charge could result in a large boom. Imagine the primer lighting and causing 2 ignition points inside the case. 2 flame fronts, or pressure waves, slamming together in the case will cause an amplification, pressure spike, and very easily rupture a case. Sounds like a job for Trail Boss powder. According to Hodgdon's load data site 180gr & 200gr can be loaded to 130PF with Trail Boss.
