Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. I put a Lightning Strike magwell on my G35 and quite liked it. It does require base pads at that point so that you can get enough palm on the mag to seat them quickly, but this combination gives you a lot of confidence to hit the mag changes everytime. It also helped me to get to my grip in a more consistent manner as my hand is big enough so that my little finger rested up against the bottom of the magwell. I also used it to rest my forearm against with a hands relaxed at sides start so the draw was more consistent as well. (Edited by slik40 at 11:28 am on Mar. 10, 2003)
  2. How does Michael know when it's time to go to bed? When the big hand touches the little hand. How can you tell when when Michael Jackson has visitors? The tricycles parked out front.....

    BUL M5

Mr BUL M5, Is there any plans for the IPSC model to be carried in Canada?
  4. lmao....too funny. I get around 3 of those annoying little "pleas" a day. Quite like the spin on this one...
  5. If you go to the STI website, look at the download area and you will notice the product catalog. Page 5 has all the mag lip dimensions. http://www.stiguns.com/index.html
  6. Any hit that does not touch (so is outside of) the perforation of the non-scoring border is not counted as a penalty. The non-scoring border in effect does not exist. A hit that crosses the non-scoring border, and the actual penalty target would be counted twice. So in the example you cited once as an "A" zone hit, and once as a penalty target hit. And this does not matter where the targets are placed. (Edited by slik40 at 1:19 pm on Jan. 30, 2003)
  7. Hey Lynn, We have an awards banquet at the end of every year and combine it with our clubs Annual General Meeting. The awards are broken up into two categories, serious division/class awards which are based on hit factor overall within division/class, and then we do a series of joke awards. The division/class awards are just simple plaques that do not cost much, but provide bragging rights. We run IPSC matches every week, 48 weeks a year. So in order to qualify for a division/class award you must have attended at least 7 matches in your division/class. The joke awards are always the highlight of the banquet. These are just computer generated awards that highlight some of the humorous things that happened during the year. These awards allow us to recognize people who might not otherwise win division/class awards, and what would IPSC be without a little friendly ribbing from fellow shooters! Hope this helps, and good luck
  8. Chuck, Nice post. It is also nice to see a USPSA member who attends Canadian matches! How long have you known Murray? I have only met him once or twice (he hosted the Natl's in '01 out in BC), but seems to be quite an interesting character. Also, he has been in the game from the start as I hear it.
  9. Comprehending Engineers - Take Four What is the difference between Mechanical Engineers and Civil Engineers? Mechanical Engineers build weapons, Civil Engineers build targets.
  10. Thanks everyone, I appreciate the input. I especially want to thank Flex for the Brownells reference, had not been there in a while and had not noticed the new site layout.....a pleasant little surprise. Lynn, will look into the Koening hammer as well, thanks for the input.
  11. ps do a search, this topic has been discussed before your posting. Hey Lynn, tried some search criteria but could not find any results that let me know specifically that the ITS trigger is in fact the tri-glide trigger. Will work on my search technique..I know what a pain it is to see multiple posts on the same topic. I got confused originally from the SV website when they mentioned on the same page the ITS trigger and the Tri-glide "light touch" trigger. This made me think that the ITS trigger is a different item, and would not require the same parts as the tri-glide trigger. This way I might get away with just the trigger and insert. 12. Hi, I find the stock trigger from STI to be too short given the length of my finger (STI Edge in .40). When looking at replacement triggers, it seems SV has the best option with the interchangable trigger system (ITS). Once this is in, if the trigger is too short, just change out the insert. My first question is, is this the same trigger as the Tri-Glide? If so, what additional parts are required when adding this to an ST? I imagine that at a minimum the trigger will require a new sear spring, is anything else required like the disconnector? Are there any compatibility issues? Any help would be appreciated.
  13. What I would like to hear is who were their influences to get into the sport, and who they see as the best and brightest up and comers. Also, Brian has shared some interesting thoughts on what changes/improvements he would like to see in USPSA. Why not share some of these thoughts beyond the Enosverse boundary, and would also like to hear Matt and Don's take on that subject.
  14. lynn jones:"what's your favorite color?" Red......no Blue!! Ahhhhhhhhhh.........
  15. Mike, Thanks. Yep, it is going to be a fun year! I just switched from the Glock to STI, so going through some 1911 learning pains and trying to set the gun up right now. Hope to see you guys putting on another level 2 this year. Would love to come down there and shoot sometime.
