  1. 2 weeks til first shot. Match is nearly full. Jerry, Todd and several more big names shooting it. Hope to watch some of them between my 21 stages
  2. I worked the match once when Smitty ran it. We were on our stages from 6:30-6:30, no break for lunch, no paid meals. They paid high schoolers more to help paste targets than the RO’s were paid. And no room provided. Then the military shooters took all the guns home. As I said, I worked it once
  3. About 6 weeks to this match. Nothing else like it out there. Pro & amateur divisions. Pro’s win cash only. They provide all guns and ammunition. 12 stages plus 9 side matches
  4. Is ProAm gone for good? We went to Florida two or three times to work/shoot it and it was absolutely the funnest match that I’ve ever shot. The last time I think we shot it in Georgia, but haven’t heard anything since. I think they held it a couple of years ago down on the east coast of Florida at Manny‘s place, but that’s the last I’ve heard. Hopefully this great match isn’t done forever. ProAmshooting dain is for sale.
  5. A few years ago, shooting the area five match up near Chicago, I drew a DQ. At the time I was so flustered, I could not understand what happened, but I was pretty sure I didn’t do anything for a DQ. I didn’t take the time to sit down and go through everything, my actions, to have a complete explanation as to what happened. And honestly, I didn’t know the rules as well as I should. Long story short, I ran my gun dry, but thinking it was a malfunction I tapped and wrecked, and was looking at an empty magazine. I changed bags raised the gun to the next target and drop the slide at that point. All legal, but I didn’t know that at the time. The rules say, as long as the competitor is aiming at targets. You can have your finger in the trigger. I’m 100% sure that I dropped my slide with my left thumb with my trigger finger on the trigger. . Had I taken the time to work out in my head what happened I probably would’ve been able to finish a really nice match.
  6. Well, the NRA world shooting championship is back on again. It seems to be bashed, pretty heavily, however, the prize table seems incredible. Talk to a guy who finished 77th a few years ago and won a Ruger red label over and under shotgun. The big names like Koenig and Piatt are past winners, so somebody is obviously interested. It’s being held much closer to the center of the country this year, so maybe the interest will be a little better. I love the idea of this. No, you can adjust the shotgun stock Everybody shoots it the same. This is not about an equipment race, it’s about the shooter, which it should be, they should all be.
  7. Well, now it’s called the world shooting championship, and I got myself entered. Looks to be a very interesting match. 12 stages, almost every gun imaginable from a western style revolver to an air rifle. They provide all the guns and ammunition. Side matches carry their own prizes.
  8. PASA Park will most likely never recover from the passing of Dick Metcalf. I have competed, RO’d and driven the four hours to the range just to practice. Dick Metcalf, along with Roy Jinks created the greatest shooting venue ever. In my opinion, The Masters was the finest, most comprehensive pistol competition ever. Industry day, where gun riders from every magazine would show up to shoot all the new guns on the pass of range is probably done for good, because dDick had so much pull and influence within the writing community.
  9. After a fairly short fight with ALH, Lee Atkins has passed away. Lee was a great man. Long time range Director at PASA Park in Barry, Illinois. Known by many and loved by nearly all who knew him. The man seemed to be capable of nearly anything. He will be greatly missed.
  10. Well now that the owner/Director/creator of The Masters International Shooting Championships has passed, I wonder if it could be revived under a different leadership? Sadly, I don’t see the current owner of the range doing so. I would be surprised if he even keeps the range open as it was never an interest of his. That’s one of the only ranges I can imagine ever being used for this because it would be extremely difficult to build everything required for this match somewhere else. In my opinion, it was the greatest match ever conceived and held.
  11. Well, the match is on again, going to be held at Camp Atterbury, Indiana, April 4 to the sixth. I am entering this year, even though I’m scheduled to work, lol. This sounds like a great match.
  12. Yes. It was 2018 but it’s still accurate.
  13. Any info on these? Good, bad indifferent?? Hard or soft?
  14. I used them for years until I tested SNS and they were very very nearly as accurate
  15. Y’all have a nice life now, go tell someone else what they should or shouldn’t use, I’m good
  16. Of course, we all know, it’s not the equipment they use that makes the super squad super. It’s dedication, time put in, and everything else comes from that.
  17. Jessie, you better leave Taurus, that’s low end. Doug, nobody shoots Ruger in USPSA, better get something else. (Dougs son Trevor & I had the same issue with the Delta Point, we always saw 2 triangles in there. Not good) Jalise, Stoeger? Really
  18. If you haven’t tried one, then you are basing your choices on what other people use. Actually, I probably am. However, I know what works no matter the cost or who else uses it. I’ve been with Burris since the early 90s and I have not once ever had a Burris product fail whether I’m shooting USPSA, PRS, the masters, Bianchi, cup, or anything else. I am not impressed by how much something cost or who else uses it. I am impressed by Performance and if you haven’t tried a Burris fast fire on a pistol, you don’t have a dog in the hunt. Perhaps it’s you who is stubborn
  19. It does thanks, perfectly. And I have not ever worried what other people use, and have never chased the super squad in my equipment choices, as they generally shoot what they’re given. And that’s why I shoot Burris.
  20. Sadly, they don’t they don’t make one for a Burris. But others do, I just haven’t ordered one yet.
  21. Well, some might consider them low end however, I do not. Shooting the optics nationals a couple years ago and watching all of the people shooting Leupold DeltaPoint Pro’s firing a couple of shots and then jabbing at their button and then a couple of shots and then jabbing at their button, I’ll pass. And one of those shooters was Julie, lol. I have yet to find better optics than Burris, regardless of price. Not saying there aren’t those as good, but none better at near the price point.
