Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Fort Stewart has started running 3 Gun Matches at Small Arms November Range (Lat 31.8801, Long -81.6663). The April match is this Saturday the 29th, three stages. Competitors please arrive by 0800, if you are able to show up early to help set up the lanes we need help and volunteers, this event will not have long term sustainability without your help. Setup will start at 0630. http://3gunnation.com/rulesJust like last month if you can register online prior to arrival it will speed up the squading and getting out on the lanes : https://practiscore.com/ft-stewart-3-gun-match-22-april-2017/register Cost is $25. Reminder no steel core or armor piercing ammo. All weapons brought onto the installation will need to be registered with the Provost Marshal. We will have registration available on site but it will be faster if you bring the paperwork already filled out. Link below. http://www.stewart.army.mil/info/?id=463&p=6Any questions please let me know, look forward to seeing you there.
  2. trijicon rmr. run great on G35's and should fit your hoslter nicely.
  3. +++1 on Mark Housel. Fantastic work, quick turnaround, all around great guy to work with.
  4. What a great match! With super weather to go with it. Definitely better than back in snowy PA. Smitty and the entire crew ran a fantastic operation. Great, challenging and fun stages. The RO's were fabulous. Universal has really become a shooter friendly range facility with plenty of shade and other amenities. Interesting thread running about the MSSC scoring system. I thought it was awesome and hope other big matches can start using it. Thanks to everybody who helped make the match a wonderful event and congratulations to all of the winners.
  5. From another shooters perspective, with no computer techie background, the MSSC system was great. Show up, sign in, get your card and go shoot. No sheets to worry about or old school sticky labels. This was 21st Century scoring at a truly world class event. Don't see it being practical or cost effective for a club. PS still seems to be the best for that venue. It is good to see other options for the sport which will hopefully drive greater innovation and competition for the best products and services for big matches and club matches alike. Would love to hear some feedback from the RO's about the learning curve and ease of use.
  6. I think I got mine at the home depot.
  7. Bladetech. Easy mounting on ELS with ELS system or tech-lock, adjustable tension screw, no issues with rigidity or comfort. Use one with an STI and Glocks for 3 gun and never had a problem.
  8. Thanks to Mark, Alan, the RO's and the rest of the support crew and staff. Outstanding match. Love the high round count, definitely on the calendar for next year.
  9. Have you read Outliers: The Story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell? Great book on how to reach perfection. One of his theories is 10,000 hours of practice. That's 40 hour weeks for 5 years or something close. Discounts the "natural talent" myth on a lot of levels. It does talk about opportunities and timing, which likely lead to the perception of "natural talent."
  10. I don't think they have a 4x4 but the Chevy Traverse meets all the other requirements. Bought mine specifically to support going to the range and moving my own gun gear and targetry. I call it an MRAP (Mobile Rifle And Pistol carrier). More cube than a Tahoe. 24 MPG on the highway. Seats 7 comfortably if you aren't carrying gear. I think it was the Motor Trend SUV of the year when it came out in 2009. Put a Yakima carrier on top for the long guns and bikes when I make my frequent PCS moves. Chevy did get a bail out so I saw it as investing in my own company...
  11. For the record Mark's previous Military discount included sending products at zero cost to deployed Soldiers. And I'm not talking dillo tools and dry rub, i'm talking mounts, optics, uppers, stocks, etc. I know DOZEN's of Soldiers who have been on the receiving end of his largesse. He is as pro-warrior as they come in my book.
  12. Open - Cause like Ricky Bobby said, "I wanna go fast." Limited - It's fast too and that's what I use in 3-Gun Production - That's what I carry so I want to be proficient with it SS - It's the classic, it's a challenge, it makes me want to go fast again 3-Gun - The only thing better might be 4 gun, or maybe sex
