Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Unfortunately, I have one of the full blown open guns with frame mounted C-more. I've had it for about 2.5 years now, and no matter how much I practice, I still have to hunt for the dot.
  2. I love my SJC open Glock, but I hate that the optic mount makes me feel like I have to aim down and to the left to see the dot. I have no natural point of aim, I have to search for my dot every time I draw or move from one position to the other. I ended up making some shims to go under the front of the C-More which helped a lot, but it looks like crap. Anyone else having similar issues? I've tried both versions of their mount, the old style and the new style. (old being centered on the mount, new being slightly offset to the left to help ejection)
  3. I've shot some Privi in their 308 match, and it's decent. It's not Federal GMM or anything, but it's decent.
  4. Wow did not think of that! Guess I need to wait till I have the gun in hand. Thanks Ken I have the +4 on mine and it is long, but it's not that bad to maneuver. I'm also not a pro, so it definitely doesn't affect my speed and maneuverability. I'm a middle of the pack shooter at best, don't think the 6 or so extra inches it adds is holding me back.
  5. Like I said, there are 2 different, but somewhat related jams happening. Sometimes the shell doesn't come all the way out of the mag tube, then I have to put my finger into the ejection port and pull it all the way out and hit the bolt release button, trying to rack the bolt doesn't work, it's locked back. The other times, the shell is just sitting on the lift gate and the bolt is locked back and I have to hit the bolt release button with this too. It seems like it thinks it's empty, and the bolt locks back on both occasions. FN told me to send it in for service, but I wouldn't get it back in time for Ironman next week.
  6. This all depends on the spring rate. That 40" Wolff spring had nearly 15-20" of "free" length and still failed to run the way I wanted. The spring I am running now has a lot less, and runs great. However, it is a lot better wire. 20" of free length could surely create its own problems no matter the spring rate. More is not necessarily better. Just trying to help the OP with the problem as described. Patrick Agreed, I am just saying that no matter how much free-length, those aftermarket springs often aren't made of stout enough wire. That was the problem in my case, and it sounds like it might be for the OP as well. WS6, who makes the spring you have now?
  7. It is clean. Cleaning it was the first thing I tried. Cleaned it better than any of my other guns, including the mag tube. I lubed all the moving parts, bolt slide rails, bolt and carrier, recoil assembly, parts of the trigger group, and light oil on the gas piston. I have a +4 extension on it making it a 12+1. I also bought a +8 extension (which would've been 16+1, but it looked retarded and wasn't legal in any competition) at the same time as the +4. First thing I thought was mag spring weakness as I took a few coils off of the +4 spring, so I installed the +8 extensions spring, so the spring is definitely long/strong enough. I cannot just push up on the lifter, it appears to be going to slide lock, so I have to hit the bolt release button to get it to chamber the last round.
  8. I've had my SLP MK 1 for a few years now and it's worked great up until a few months ago. It started jamming on the last round, the last round either not coming all the way out of the mag tube, or coming all the way out and just sitting on the lift gate and the bolt locked back. I have to manually pull the shell out of the tube and then hit the bolt release button (on either jam) to get it to go into battery. At first, I thought it was a weak magazine spring, but I know that's not it now, I'm using an 8 round extension spring in my 4 round extension. My ammo hasn't changed, it's always worked well with the cheap wally world Federal 100 pack #8's and 7.5's. It jams on the cheap birdshot, and some of the low recoil slugs. I can't afford to buy the expensive stuff to play this game! lol And yes, I searched first.
  9. Practice! Adios, TG practicing with equipment that isn't functioning up to par is useless. added arredondo chute and the shells are still getting stuck at the opening of the mag tube. some still go low, some still go high. compared mine to a buddy's and it appears my loading gate goes down a little bit more than his. I'm wondering if that may be because I have the H&K model that you can ghost load and he doesn't so the bolt carrier is a little different. I'm heading to a 3gun match tomorrow so I guess I'll have to check out open shotguns that work and see what's different.
  10. Anyone know if it's possible to just buy the tecloader tubes instead of the whole kit (tubes, bracket, and pouch)? If so, where?
  11. Just send it to Benny I'd love to send it away and have it done up right, but the turn around time usually isn't quick enough. The 3gun season just started around here.
  12. and does anyone have pics of the modified areas?
  13. I did try searching first! All you guys that use tecloaders and make it look so smooth and effortless, what did you have to modify to make them work so good? I'm using a stock Benelli M1S90 Field and have to fight to get any shells to load. It is rather frustrating! Thanks!
  14. I have the IOR/Valdada 1.5-8x26 with 35mm tube and CQB reticle. I love it and I've hit targets out to 600+ with it, but it's $1100-1500 depending on where you shop.
